The mimosa is a simple drink that really needs no introduction. For me and for many it's the go-to libation (and even the subsequent libations) of a weekend brunch.

I have a number of memories from my college days of waking up on a Saturday morning, the week after finals to a text or call from one of my pals asking if I'd like to join them at the White Dog Cafe in University City at 9AM to take advantage of endless mimosas until the afternoon kicks in. I'd also say that the afternoon was where my consciousness, or at least my sense of awareness would kick itself out.

On at least one occasion, I recall starting the day on one side of the city and somehow finding my way on the other side of it at some Irish Pub watching a sports game that I knew nothing about. There's a tall dark stout on the table, half-full as another crony of mine serendipitously wanders to our streetside table with a cat on a collar. I know not what's going on, but with a beer to drink and an animal to pet, my past self certainly had nothing to complain about.

And all that started with mimosas... Lovely. I'll also mention that there's about a million different ways to do a mimosa, and this is just the simplest way I could think of to accomplish one. Combine OJ and prosecco. As my mind wanders further, I wonder how it would be to drink a mimosa the other way around, like instead of OJ in the Sparkle out of a glass, what about Sparkle out of the Orange itself through straw or something?

If anyone else knows of better ways to do mimosas, I'd be soooo down to do an entire Sunday Brunch stream just making a bunch of different types of mimosas. It'd be like living those collegiate days all over again, except in front of a camera, and significantly less fears of American academia on my mind 😊
